Manufacturers wanted to save money by using the same movement in differing styles of clock.
Some clocks were taller or shorter than others, but the whole design concept of these clocks was that the pendulum would sit a few millimetres from the base. To use the same movement, a different wire thickness and length had to be used. In these situations, we need to know more than just the model of movement. Please measure the distance from the upper surface of the base, to below the platform the movement sits on. If it does not sit on a plaform, measue to the bottom of the backplate.
