Hello.
I have been restoring / conserving clocks for about 10 years now.
I have an Anniversary clock that needs a suspension spring, but it does not have any significant markings except "Made in Germany" under the ceramic dial, and more importantly, has 116/1294 scratched under the brass base.
I have attached two pictures.
I would like to know something about the clock and especially what suspension spring to use.
I had a friend give me a suspension spring (0.033") to try and it is quite a bit fast and cannot be regulated.
I assume that it requires a thicker spring.
Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Regards,

[attachment=8][attachment=9]Dear all
Today I had the pleasure of surfing this message board which I found very interesting. I come from Argentina and some days ago I acquired a Kern 400 day clock. The movement seems in very good condition however , the suspension spring is missing. The top block is still there and I managed to find a fork and bottom block at a shop but not the spring.

Is there anyone who can help me identify the clock which does not have any identification numbers - only a symbol of a dail with K and S inside it at the bottom left hand corner of the back plate under the winding pinion. The size of the clock without glass is about 7.5 inches (approx 195mm) and the base diammeter is 5.5 inches/140mm, the length between the top block and the pendulum (4 balls) about 3.5 inches (approx 90mm). Back plate 1.75in (45mm) by 2.5in (62mm).

I wish to know the type of suspension spring required and size(suspect .002/.0023). Also if anyone knows approximate age.

Thanks for your attention.

The suspension and all its related parts are missing and if I knew the maker it might help in selection of the correct suspension. Its got deadbeat escapement and there is a s/n on the back of 29965. It has a dial similar to a Gustav Becker I had recently but it doesn't look like one in other respects. Any help would be appreciated. Raymond

AS A RECENT CONVERT TO TORSION CLOCKS AND TO THIS SITE, I THOUGHT PEOPLE MIGHT BE INTERESTED IN THIS JUNGHANS CLOCK WITH AN UNUSUAL GOVERNOR PENDULUM, SERIAL No. 27402.
IT DATES FROM AROUND 1911 AND APART FROM THE PENDULUM IT IS VERY RARE IN THAT IT HAS ROMAN NUMERALS ON A SILVERED DIAL RATHER THAN ARABIC.
IT IS NUMBERED 6518 IN A JUNGHANS CATALOGUE OF THE TIME.
I BOUGHT IT AT A BOOT FAIR RECENTLY, CLEANED IT UP AND GOT IT RUNNING.
IT SITS WELL ALONGSIDE MY TWO GUSTAV BECKER CLOCKS. IF MEMBERS ARE INTERESTED I CAN POST PICS AND DETAILS OF THESE AS WELL.
(Pics have come up as attachments: is this normal or can I post actual pictures? Perhaps someone can enlighten me!)

Hello,
I have inherited a Kundo clock (non-electric) that belonged to my Grandparents and I'm trying to date it. All I can find on it is Kieninger & Obergfell, Made in West-Germany. I cannot find a serial #. Obviously it is Post WWII if it was made in West-Germany. It has leveling feet. It seems the wind up mechanism is stuck, possibly from over turning it. I recall the clock from as early as I can remember. I was born in 1958. If anyone can give me some help I would most appreciate it.
Thank You,
We have a couple old (1890's) pendulum style wall clocks and have developed an interest in clocks in general from them. We filled out the identification form on this site but haven't had a reply yet (just did it!) so we don't know what model etc.

It hasn't been used in some time and it sat for a while without the glass cover. It seems to be in good condition but is a little bit tarnished. The key was missing however I've ordered a new one.

I'd like to clean it up a bit and start it running again but I'd like some suggestions on how to go about it. Should we attempt to clean it ourselves and if so with what type polish? What would be a ball park price at a clock repair place? When we get the key should we just wind it up and give it a go?
I understand it needs to be level and can handle that much, is there any thing else I should know?
